Twelve Days of Valentines Day 8 - A Hidden Message in a Heart

Today's card has a fun technique that I think you're going to like.  The heart on the front flips up for a hidden message to tell your loved one just how much they mean to you.  Let me show you how it's made.

Here's what you will need to make this card:

  • red cardstock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • whisper white cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • designer paper cut at 4" x 3"
  • Sweet & sassy framelits
  • silver glimmer paper
  • Love notes framelits (item bundle with sealed with love stamp set  144705)
  • Sealed with Love stamp set
  • real red ink
  • melon mambo ink
  • real read cardstock cut at 3 5/8" x 6", folded in half
  • whisper white cardstock cut to 3/4" x 2 1/2 (for love note greeting)
I started this card by stamping the lips in real red and melon mambo ink colors on the top half of the 4" x 5 1/4" whisper white cardstock.  I then adhered the designer paper onto the bottom half of this piece and adhered to the front of the card base.  I used the love notes framelits to cut the arrow from the silver glimmer paper.  Stamp the "love note" onto the 3/4" x 2 1/2" cardstock and cut the edges using your paper snips.

To create the heart you will need the piece of real red 3 5/8" x 6" that is folded in half, and the largest heart from the sweet & sassy framelits.  Arrange the framelits onto the red cardstock, into your Big Shot, keeping the fold at the top as shown in the image below.  Make sure the folded edge is under the TOP of the heart, and the heart is slightly off of the cardstock.  This is what will hold your heart together once the heart is cut out.   Stamp a message inside your heart then adhere it to the front of the card.  Add the "Love Note" and silver glimmer arrow and you're ready to give this card to your favorite valentine.
