A Card in A Box using Best Catch from Stampin' Up!

Do you ever just want to create a REALLY fabulous card to give to someone special?  With a special fold that will WOW the receiver of your card?  This is the card.  Today I created a video to show you how to create a card in a box.  It's a 3D card with lots of layers and it's so much fun.  Did I mention that this card even folds flat so that you can mail it in a regular size envelope?

I created a video with step by step instructions because I thought it would be easier for you all to see the card going together in person, instead of written instructions.  So if you click the link above, you can watch it over and over, just in case you have any questions along the way.  I have given you dimensions below so that you can have all of your pieces cut to size as you follow along in the video.  I hope you enjoy it.    Just click on the image above to watch it now.

Measurements:
  • Card Base cut at 11 x 4 1/4", scored on the 11" side at 3 3/4", 5 1/4", 9" and 10 1/2".  Score on the 4 1/4" side (the short side) at 2 1/2"
  • Card insert is cut at 1" x 4 3/4".  Score at 1/2" and  4 1/4"

Stampin' Up! Best Catch

Welcome to Wednesday.  It's the middle of the week and that means Friday is only two days away.  I love the weekends because it gives me time to spend with my husband and my kids.  It also seems like there is less hustle and bustle and there is time for a little regrouping for the upcoming week.  I hope your Wednesday is good for you, as well.

Today on Facebook Live over on my business page, I am featuring a stamp set in the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog.  Have you seen it?  It's called Best Catch and it is FABULOUS!!!  This set can be used for birthday, celebration, Father's Day or thinking of you.  As a bonus, this stamp set can be purchased as a bundle with the framelits to save 10%.

Did you miss us at 4:00 today?  You're in luck because you can watch it now by clicking on the arrow in the image below.  don't forget to leave me a comment below letting me know which project was your favorite, for a chance to win a prize during next week's Facebook Live.  Good luck.

As always, if you make a purchase from my online store of $30.00 or more (before shipping and tax), I will mail you the make & take projects for this week's projects.  Please be sure to use HOST code HPVQQSBC at checkout in order to qualify.   Because of the weight, I will not be able to mail the tile we used in today's video, however, I will mail you another completed card that I have created using this same stamp set.   I'm afraid the tile would bend up all of the cardstock during shipping, and that would make for some very unhappy stampers.

This week I am offering a prize giveaway from the Occasions/Sale-a-Bration catalog.  After watching the video, come back here and leave a comment below and tell me which is your favorite project.  I will draw one lucky winner.  You MUST leave a comment below in order to be entered into the drawing.

Monday Morning Happenings

Happy Monday!!!!  This week I have some fun tips and  projects to share with you here, and over on my Facebook group.  If you haven't joined me on Facebook yet, Click here now to join us.

Did you know that each Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.,  I do a Facebook Live presentation where I demonstrate three new projects for you using Stampin' Up! products?  I show you step by step how to create the projects. PLUS, if you make a minimum purchase using the monthly hostess code, I will send you the make & take pieces for FREE.    If you don't have a facebook, check back here Wednesday after the event and I will post the video through YouTube for you to watch.

Today I am sharing a sympathy card that I made recently.  A sympathy card is not something that we like to have to mail out, but it is a good card to have on hand in case we need it.  Here's the card I am sharing today:

Here's how I created the card:

  1. Cut a piece of whisper white cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score at 4 1/4".
  2. Cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo to 4" x 5 1/4".
  3. Using the stamp set Incredible Like You, stamp the flower image randomly onto the flirty flamingo piece using flirty flamingo ink.

4.    Cut a piece of All My Love Designer Series Paper to 2" x 5 1/4".  Attach this piece to the center of the flirty flamingo stamped piece as shown.

5. Wrap white weave ribbon around the designer series paper and tie the ends in a knot

6. Attach this piece to the front of the card base.

7. Cut a circle (second from the largest), and a scallop circle (black),  using the Layering Circle framelits.

8. Stamp the flowers on the white circle piece, using the Incredible Like You stamp set and flirty flamingo ink.  Stamp a greeting ( I used Flourishing Phrases) using black ink.

9. Attach the white circle to the Scalloped black circle then attach to the front of the card as shown using dimensionals.

10. Using the Sprig Punch, punch 2 sprigs from Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  Attach using tombo multipurpose adhesive

11.  Attach 3 small pearls to each corner.

Stampin' Up! products used to create today's project:

  1. Whisper White cardstock (item #100730)
  2. Flirty Flamingo cardstock (item #141416)
  3. Flirty Flamingo Ink (item #147052)
  4. Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (item #132708)
  5. Flourishing Phrases stamp set (item #141534)
  6. Incredible Like You stamp set (item #148708)
  7. Whisper White 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon (item #144159)
  8. Layering Circle Framelits dies (item #141705)
If you don't need a sympathy card to have on hand, this card could easily be altered to create a birthday or thinking of you card.

If you need supplies for this, or any other project, I would love to be your demonstrator.  You can visit my store 24 hours a day. Don't forget to use the HOST code above at checkout.  Click here now to visit my store.  I hope you'll stop back again tomorrow for more card making fun.

Happy February!!!! It's hard to believe that January has flown by.  Here in Michigan, we are in the midst of crazy winter weather.  Last week we had a severe winter weather advisory and we were caught up in the polar vortex.   Did you receive some of that bitterly cold weather too?  The feels like temps here in Michigan plummeted to -38, but I know some areas got even colder. On Wednesday we are suppose to get freezing rain, snow and ice.   Is it spring yet?

I have listed the February host code above.  If you are placing an online order, please be sure to use this code at checkout.  If your order is $50.00 or more, you get to choose a FREE sale a bration item of your choice from Stampin' Up!  How fun is that?    Also, when you place an order of $50.00 or more, I will be entering your name into a drawing to win a prize from the Occasions catalog. You will receive an entry for each $50.00 order you place.  Winner will be drawn on April 1, 2019.

Don't forget about Facebook Live each Wednesday.  This week's Live will be at 3:00  due to a scheduling conflict.  I hope you will join me for a live demonstration featuring a fun and FREE set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog, Hello Cupcake.  You can join us live by clicking HERE or you can watch the replay right back here after I have edited and posted the YouTube video.

If you are local to me in Lansing, Michigan, I will be having an All Occasion Card Class on Saturday, February 16th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  This is a fun time to relax, laugh and have fun.  We have a great group of stampers who love to help and share, so even if you have never stamped before, you are going to have fun and feel at home.

Cost for this class is $15.00. You will create 5 beautiful cards  with envelopes.  I will have everything designed and cut for you, all you have to do is stamp and assemble.  Please bring your own adhesive, paper snips and bone folder with you.  If you would like to stamp with us, please make your reservation today.  Space is limited.  Payment can be made now or I would be happy to accept payment at the event.

You may contact me here to make your reservation now:  Stampitwithdebbie@gmail.com
