Stampin' UP! Little Cuties

Have you seen the stamp set called "Little Cuties" in the current Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog?  It is a wonderful set that can be used for so many occasions.  Here it is:

Isn't it the sweetest?  You could create birthday cards, baby cards, friend and Easter cards.  I created this card today for my daughter's friend who will soon welcome a sweet little baby boy into her life.  She is a first time mom, but I know she will be awesome.  What I like about this set is that I could easily duplicate this card using yellow, light greens or pink depending on the gender of the baby.

Here's what you need to create this card:
  • pool party cardstock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • pool party cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • whisper white cardstock cut at 3" x 3 1/2"
  • Cupcakes & carousels designer paper cut at 2" x 5 1/4" (item #142744)
  • Little cuties stamp set (item #142990)
  • lucky stars embossing folder (item #135817)
  • stitched ribbon (item #140569) bermuda bay

Here's how you create the card:

  • Fold 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" cardstock in half to create card base
  • run the 4" x 5 1/4"  piece of pool party through the big shot using the lucky stars embossing folder. Attach this piece to the front of the card base.
  • attach the 2" x 5 1/4" piece of designer paper to the middle of the embossed cardstock
  • stamp the rocking horse onto the 3" x 3 1/2" piece of whisper white cardstock using staz on ink.  Color the image using the aqua painter or water color pencils.
  • Turn the stamped image over and put a line of adhesive on the right edge of the card (this will be the left edge once you flip it back over).  Cut a piece of the bermuda bay ribbon and create loops, attaching it to the line of adhesive that you put on the right side.
  • Place dimensionals on the back of the white cardstock and attach to the front of the card as shown
  • attach 3 rhinestone jewels to the top right corner of the card
I hope you enjoy this card today.  If you need items to create this, or another project, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Please visit my store HERE

Do you remember standing on the sidewalk listening to the sound of the ice cream truck driving through the neighborhood?  What was your favorite treat?  My favorite was called a screwball.  Fruity iced goodness with a gumball at the bottom.

The Cool Treats Suite from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog is one of my favorites, although I will admit I do have many favorites from this catalog.  The cool fruity colors of pool party, watermelon wonder and peekaboo peach scream cool summer fun.

  • Cool Treats Bundle (items #145181)

Stampin' Up! Hey, Chick

I wouldn't normally post using the same stamp set two days in a row, but today I created another card using the stamp set Hey, Chick because I didn't want you to miss out on this FREE stamp set from Stampin' Up!   This is a Sale-a-Bration stamp set, and is only available while supplies last.  If you are not familiar with Sale-a-Bration, it's a special time of year where Stampin' Up! allows everyone to choose a free product from the SAB catalog when they purchase $50.00 or more in merchandise.  If you purchase $100.00, you get to choose two items for FREE.  Isn't that so exciting?

Growing up, I remember my Grandpa Maneke raising chickens and I have many fond memories of those times, except of course the time when he told me to choose a chicken.  Which I did.  And then I found out it was dinner.  His chickens were always white, but I always dreamed of having chickens on a farm, and they would be very colorful chicken, like these.

What you need to make this card:

  • crushed curry cardstock 8 1/2" x 11 scored at 4 1/4"
  •  basic black cardstock cut at 3 3/4" x 5"
  • whisper white cardstock cut at 2 1/2" x 4"
  • designer series paper strip cut at 1 1/2" x 4 3/4" (I used Festive Birthday DSP item #141630)
  • 2 1/8" x 1/2" whisper white banner for greeting
  • gorgeous grunge stamp set (item #130517)
  • Hey, chick stamp set, sale a bration (item #143331)
  • basic pearls (item #119247)
  • Tree builder punch (item #138295)
  • aqua painter
  • water color pencils (item #141709)
  • crushed curry, sahara sand, memento inks and real red marker
How to make this card:
  • fold the crushed curry card base in half and use bone folder to crease score line
  • attach basic black 3 3/4" x 5" at an angle
  • attach designer paper to the left edge of the basic black cardstock
  • stamp chick images onto the 2 1/2" x 4" whisper white cardstock using memento ink and stamp-a-ma-jig
  • color chicks using watercolor pencils, crushed curry ink and aqua painter (I colored the top chick using the basic gray watercolor pencil then washing over with the aqua painter.  I colored the bottom chick using crushed curry ink and the aqua painter)
  • stamp speckles randomly using the gorgeous grunge stamp and sahara sand ink
  • attach the stamped image to the front of your card
  • stamp greeting onto the whisper white banner using memento ink
  • punch 3 flowers using the tree builder punch and real red card stock.  Attach basic pearls to the inside of each flower.
