Tip of the Week- Coloring Images with a Blender Pen

Did you know that even if you don't have markers in all of your favorite colors, but you have ink pads, you can use them to color your stamped images?  This week's Tip of the week involves and ink pad, blender pen and a clear block.  I have created a video for you so that you can see exactly how to do this technique. Click on the image above to watch the video now.

This tip was inspired by a Color Challenge over on my Facebook group called Create With Debbie.  If you would like to take part in that challenge, please Click Here Now to visit my group.  Every 2 weeks I issue another challenge and it really gets me out of my comfort zone of using the same colors all of the time.  I hope that you will join us.

This color challenge included using the colors Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Mango Melody.  It was quite the challenge.  And it pushed me way out of my comfort zone.  I am happy with the way my card turned out and next week, we will have new colors for a new challenge.  Stay tuned.

Here is the card I created:

Here's is how I created the card:

  1. Cut Bermuda Bay to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".
  2. Cut a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4".  Stamp this image with the bokeh stamps from the Beauty Abounds stamp set using Lemon Lime Twist ink.
  3. Stamp the "hello" Greeting from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in the lower right corner using black ink
  4. Attach the lemon lime twist stamped piece to the front of the card.
  5. cut a piece of 2017-2019 in color 6" x 6" designer series paper to 2" x 5" and attach to the card as shown.
  6. Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay to 2 1/2" x 4"
  7. Cut a piece of whisper white cardstock to 2 1/4" x 3 3/4".
  8. Stamp the images as show in the picture above using black Staz On ink
  9. Stamp over the images with the bokeh stamp using lemon lime twist (the bokeh image is the one with circle)
  10. Using the ink colors Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist, color the images using a blender pen
  11. Attach the Whisper White piece to the center of the Bermuda Bay piece and attach to the card as shown using dimensionals.
  12. Add rhinestones wherever you think your card needs a little sparkle.

Retiring In Colors from Stampin' Up!

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for Facebook Live. Today I am featuring the 2017-2019 In Colors from Stampin' Up! that will soon be retiring.   Those colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Powder Pink.  These colors will be replaced by new In Colors in the 2019 Annual Catalog, however, some items may sell out before the catalog is actually retired.

If you have ink pads in any of these colors and you do not yet have the reinkers, please order them NOW!!!!  These items could sell out at any time, and they will be gone forever.

For today's projects, I used two different stamp sets because I was focusing more on the colors that are retiring than the stamp sets.  To watch a replay of the video now, click on the top image above to see step by step directions for all 3 projects.  Don't forget to leave a comment to let me know how you like the projects.

Place an order through my online store of $30.00 or more and I will mail you the make & take kit for these three projects.  Visit my store now here:   Stamp It With Debbie Online Store  Please use HOST code YF4SR37T at checkout.

There are only 4 days left of Sale-a-Bration. If you would like to earn a FREE product with every $50.00 purchase, get your order in before March 31st, 2019.  Don't miss out!!!

Come back tomorrow to see more new projects that I have been working on.

Happy Stamping,

More Reaspns to Love Fable Friends

On yesterday's Facebook Live, I featured the new stamp set called Fable Friends from Stampin' Up!.   I created 3 fun projects that you can follow along, step by step.  Did you see it?  If you missed it, you can see it now by clicking on the link in the picture below.

Just in case you needed another reason to love this adorable stamp set, I wanted to show you another project.  This one says Happy Easter, but you could easily change it to use the greeting Happy Spring or Glad We're Friends.

Stampin' Up! Products Used to Create this Project:

  • Fable Friends stamp set (item #148670)
  • Whisper White Cardstock (item #100730)
  • Gingham Gala 6" x 6" designer Series Paper (item #148554)
  • Balmy Blue cardstock (item #146982)
  • Textured Weave Ribbon - Granny Apple Green (item #146920)
  • Stampin' Blends Markers in light crumb cake (item #144582), Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo light (item #147031)
  • Layering Ovals Framelits (item #141706)
  • Stitched Shapes Framlits (item #145372)
  • Polka Dot Basics embossing folder (item #143709)
  • Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins (item #148561)

How I created the card:

  • Cut Whisper White Cardstock cardbase to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score at 4 1/4" and fold in half.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and run through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  Adhere this piece to the front of the card base.
  • Cut a piece of Gingham Gala Designer series paper (balmy blue) to 3" x 5 1/4". Adhere to the center of the embossed cardstock.
  • Cut an oval from the Stitched Framelits and whisper white cardstock. Stamp the bunny image in the center and color with the Stampin' Blends Markers.
Cut a scalloped oval, one size bigger than the stitched piece in white, using Balmy Blue cardstock.  Attach the white oval to the top of the balmy blue piece and attach to the front of the card using dimensionals.
  • Cut a piece of whisper white cardstock to 3/4" x 2 3/4".  Stamp a greeting in the center of this piece. Cut banners on each end.
  • Cut a piece of ribbon long enough so that it can be doubled and will show behind the greeting.  Attach this to the front of the card, under the bunny, as show in the image above.  I used tear & tape and glue dots to adhere.
  • Attach the Greeting banner on top of the ribbon using dimensionals.  Adhere the sequins as shown.
Don't forget that this week only, until Tuesday, March 26th, when you make a purchase through my online store of $30.00 or more, I will mail you a make & take kit for these projects for FREE.  Also, time is running out for Sale-a- Bration.  Choose a FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog with your purchase of $50.00 or more.

Spring Projects using Fable Friends from Stampin' Up!

Happy Spring!!!!  I can't believe that spring is finally here.  I have been waiting for the spring flowers for, well, it seems like a very long time.  While living in Florida, there were no spring daffodils or tulips or hyacinths.  I missed them very much.  In the Fall of 2017, when I thought we would be home from Florida in January of 2018, I planted about 200 flower bulbs so I could see them all bloom that spring.  Well, we didn't make it home until October 2018.  So this will be the year that I'm hoping to see my yard filled with beautiful blooming flowers.  Do you have spring bulbs where you live?  what is your favorite?  Mine is definitely Daffodil.  It looks like a delicate tea cup.

Today on Facebook Live, I wanted to create a few projects that were inspired by spring.  It has been a long winter, and I'm ready for spring weather.  I used the Fable Friends stamp set from Stampin' Up!, along with the Gingham Gala Paper.  Have I told you how much I love this paper?  Soooo beautiful.

If you missed the live demonstration today, no worries.  Click on the image below to watch a replay now.

I hope that you will enjoy these projects and that you are able to recreate some of them.

A Colorful Challenge

Do you like to be challenged when stamping?  Or does it stress you out?  I'm going to be honest, sometimes a challenge stresses me out, but I know that's only because it pushes me out of my comfort zone and makes me use products in a way that I haven't thought about before.

I have started issuing a new challenge each week over in my Facebook group.  If you would like to follow along over there, click HERE to go there now and join.  I will also post the challenge here in case you are not on facebook, but you would like to challenge yourself, too.    Images must be posted on the facebook group in order to be entered into the drawing.

Don't forget that every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., I am live over on my Facebook Page.  You can join us anytime.  Don't have Facebook?  No worries. After the live demonstration is over, I will upload the YouTube video right here so that you can view it.  Join my Facebook Page HERE

If you need supplies for any of your crafting needs, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Please visit my online store today.  Please use HOST code YJ4SR37T at checkout.  Visit my store by clicking here now:  Stamp It WIth Debbie's Online Store

Amazing Life by Stampin' Up!

This week I had a few technical difficulties over on my Facebook page. I normally go live every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for a live demonstration using a current product from the Stampin' Up! catalogs.  However, this week, my phone service provider, Verizon, had an issue with a fiber optic wire that got cut.  Phone service was out for most of the day.  So I decided to postpone my live video.

Today I finally had a chance to do my demonstration, and I think you're really going to like it.  Did you know that Stampin' Up! now has a set of rectangle stitched framelits?  And the framelits are bundled with the Amazing Life stamp set.  If you purchase them together as a bundle, you can save 10%.

If you would like to watch the video, please click the image below and you will be directed to my youtube channel.  Please come back here and leave a comment below and tell me which project was your favorite for a chance to win a prize from me during next week's live demonstrator.
