You are Amazing

``

I recently challenged my downline team to create a card with circles. It was their choice of design, but it had to include circles.   So to play along with the challenge, I also created a circle card.  I then took a picture and watermarked my card, which can prove to be a difficult task with the poor lighting I have here in Florida.   I was feeling great!  Challenge complete.   And now, just as I'm typing up this blog post, I realized that I created a whole card stamped with circles, and then I put an oval greeting on the front. ***insert a long sigh here*****   I was going to fix it by stamping a new greeting onto a circle, but then I thought, nah, I'm just going to leave it.  Because, afterall, I'm human too, and sometimes I just don't follow directions.   I suppose I wouldn't need to tell you that I created a challenge, and then the oval would be irrelevant.   Either way, this is the card I created, and I like how amazingly simple it is, but also colorful.  What do you think?

Here's what I used to create this card:

  • All Things Thanks stamp set (item #143097)
  • Playful Backgrounds stamp (item #141920)
  • Eastern Beauty stamp set (item #143675)
  • Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, black ink and smoky slate ink
  • metallic sequins (item #144214)
  • Flirty Flamingo card base cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • whisper white card stock cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Stitched Framelits (item # 145372)
  • Layering Oval Framelits (item #141706)

Here's how I created the card:

  • Score card base at 4 1/4" and fold card in half
  • stamp circle images onto the whisper white piece cut at 4" x 5 1/4" using a variety of the ink colorsand stamps listed above
  • stamp the greeting "you are amazing" onto a piece of whisper white cardstock and cut out with the stitched oval framelit.  Cut a scallop oval one size bigger than the stitched oval using basic black cardstock
  • attach the greeting piece onto the black piece and attach to the card front using dimensionals
  • attach iridescent sequins onto the card as shown using glue dots

Love is in the Air

Pretty Kitty is sending love your way

Today's card takes cute to the next level.  Don't you think?  Back during the Christmas holidays, my friend, Frances, showed me how to make an Eclipse card.  An eclipse card can be made with any cut out object, such as a heart, start, letters or numbers.  Today I'm going to give you a tutorial on how to create this eclipse card.  I made it with the Stampin' Up! Pretty Kitty stamp set, but if you are partial to dogs, you could easily make this card using the Bella and Friends stamp set.

Here's what I used to create this card:

Pretty Kitty clear mount stamp set (item #141864)
Heart Happiness stamp set (item #145769)
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (item #127802)
Large Letters framelits (item #141712)
Melon Mambo cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Melon Mambo cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
whisper white cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
Classic Label Punch (item #141491)
Melon Mambo ink
basic black ink
Powder Pink Ink
Stampin' Blends markers in crumb cake light, cherry cobbler light and pink pirouette dark
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Basic Rhinestones (item #144220)

Here's how I created the card:

  1. Fold melon mambo card base in half using bone folder to burnish.
  2. Place the large letter framelits L, O, V and E onto the white 4"x 5 1/4" whisper white making light pencil marks on the bottom of the L  the top of the O and the right side of the V.  You will use this for placement of the cat images. Notice that I shifted the E slightly to the right to allow more of the cat to be seen.  Remove the letters and stamp cat images.
  3. Using melon mambo and Powder Pink ink, stamp heart images randomly onto the 4" x 5 1/4" white cardstock around the cats. Color in cats using stampin' blends markers.
  4. Place the stamped piece of cardstock into your big shot, then place large letter framelits to form the word LOVE.  You can use washi tape to secure the letters from shifting while running through the big shot.  Carefully remove the letters, making sure to keep the insert for the letter O.  You will need to stamp the back side of this piece with hearts to be used when assembling.
  5. Place the pieces of 4" x 5 1/4" melon mambo cardstock back into the big shot platform and place the letters LOVE in the center as you did with the previous piece.  Save all pieces as I will be showing you another project to use the stenciled part of this cutout.
  6. Adhere the stamped piece of whisper white onto the melon mambo card base.   Find the center of the O that was cut out and stamp hearts randomly onto the back side of  this piece. (the front has part of the cat stamped onto it, which you do not want to use)   Set aside.
  7. Place mini stampin dimensionals onto the melon mambo cut out letters then place each letter into the empty space on the stamped image.  You may need to cut dimensionals in half for smaller parts of the letters.   You are replacing the white stamped letters with melon mambo letters.  Place adhesive onto the O insert you stamped  and insert into the center of the O.  Note this piece will remain flat.  Do not place a dimensional onto this piece.
  8. Add 3 rhinestones to the front of the card as shown.
  9. Stamp the Happy Valentines Day image from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Punch this greeting out with the Classic Label Punch.  Add this image to the bottom right corner of your card using dimensionals.

Stamp kittens onto the cardstock using the letters as a guideline.  Stamp random hearts
around the kittens.  Color the kittens using stampin' blends markers.

Place large framelits over the stamped piece and run through the Big Shot
Cut the LOVE letters from melon mambo cardstock, centering the letters as you did for the stamped piece
(save all pieces as I will be showing you another project to use the stencil)

Add stampin dimensionals to each letter.  You may need to cut the dimensionals in half for smaller
areas of the letters.  Stamp hearts onto the white center piece of the letter O.

Sharing a Little Love with You

Will you be my Valentine?

Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  I remember loving this time of year when I was in elementary school.  I liked all the pretty pink, purple and red colors mixed with lacey doilies and hand cut hearts.  I have always been crafty, so, of course, I really liked the challenge of decorating a shoebox to receive all of my special valentines in.  Did you like creating a special valentine box, too?

I also remember the days before we had cute heart framelits to cut all of our hearts out with.  I would fold a piece of paper in half, cut half a heart out, and tada, a whole valentine heart appeared.

Over the next week I will be sharing some of the Valentine cards that I have made to send out this year. If you are making valentine cards too, I would love for you to share over on my Facebook page by clicking HERE.  Just snap a picture and post your creation for everyone to admire.

These two cards I created are similar,  but use different love greetings.  Which is your favorite?  It's hard to see but the bottom half of each card is made with sparkly gold paper.  Here are some of the supplies I used to create my valentines.

Supplies Used
  • Heart Happiness Stamp Set (item #145769)
  • Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (item #144143)
  • Sweet & Sassy Heart Framelits (item #141707)
  • Gold Shimmer Paper (item #133719)
  • Delicate White Doilies (item #141701)

I hope that you have enjoyed my Valentine cards today and you will stop back again tomorrow to see what else I have been creating.  If you need supplies for this, or any other project, I hope that you will visit my store by clicking here.
