My daughter, Emily, recently visited me and brought the new Troll movie with her. It was a fun movie to watch. I like to send my kids surprises in the mail and I thought what better surprise than to receive a handmade troll card in the mail, from your favorite mom, along with a starbucks gift card so that she could try a unicorn drink that everyone is talking about. Because unicorns and trolls go together, right? This project took me much longer than I anticipated, but I am happy with the results, and hopefully she will enjoy it too.
Here's how to make the troll:
- hair - frozen treats framelits (the cone), fussy cut bangs
- head - 1 3/8" circle punch
- ears - fox builder punch
- flowers in the hair - tree builder punch
- nose - owl builder punch (used the foot of the owl)
- eyes - starting from the black that is directly attached to the face. Black (cupcake builder), White (cupcake builder) offset these from each other to create an eye liner, melon mambo (1/8" handheld punch), black (owl builder punch). I used a black marker to draw the eyelashes and a chalk marker to create the white dot in the eye.
- dress - I cut a rectangle from tempting turquoise and fussy cut to the dress shape
- arms - 1"x1" square with corners rounded
- hands - pyramid pals framelits (elephant nose)
- flowers at the top of the card made with the pansy punch
- leaves - Rose Garden framelits
